Market Risk and Compliance sit right at the heart of the Firm’s business activities and culture. In combination, these areas account for the majority of the Firm’s overall risk profile and are therefore considered critical in terms of both operational and commercial risk control.
Compliance is responsible for ensuring the Firm adheres to all relevant regulatory and exchange rules whilst setting the compliance agenda and continuing to foster the very best compliance culture. To achieve this, Compliance runs its own independent workstreams and interacts closely with personnel across all front-office and operational teams.
Trading surveillance is an essential component of the work carried out by Compliance. The monitoring and control of the Firm’s trading activities, from a surveillance perspective, form one of the most important elements of the Firm’s control framework. As such, Surveillance is a challenging and exciting area. Excellent numerical analytical skills coupled with an ability to effectively communicate are critical. In return, this role provides exceptional exposure to the listed derivatives markets and the opportunity to develop a rewarding career in the financial services.
We are looking to recruit a talented individual who will work remotely, away from the our client’s London HQ, on a surveillance remit. To achieve this, you will work in close collaboration with, and directly as a part of, the broader Compliance team. In this regard, you will require excellent organisation and communication skills to ensure information and reporting is managed smoothly between you and your London-based colleagues.

It is likely that the successful candidate will come from a quantitative background; able to demonstrate strong numerical and analytical skills achieved through education (e.g. engineering, maths, science or similar) and / or through relevant work experience. Specific surveillance expertise is not necessary because the Firm will provide the training required, however an enquiring attitude and a demonstrable interest in the financial services are both considered essential.
